It's obvious that Dick's is all in on getting out of the gun business. A guy I know that has worked there for years, told me that the store he works in is planning on getting rid not only of guns, but hunting and fishing equipment too. He says they are going to concentrate on team sports, golf, camping, canoes/kayaks, fitness and shoes.
I do feel that it may very well be just a matter of time before changes are made to how private sales and transfers of firearms are handled. It appears that support for this is coming from many of the people from the generations following the boomers who aren't shooting/hunting in nearly the numbers boomers (and the generations before them) did.

They can continue to behave this way and I will continue to spend my money elsewhere.

They are free to send whatever message they want.... I'm free to spend my money where I want. You don't offer hunting or fishing stuff...I have very little use for your store. My favorite stores are Rural King and Bass-pro as it is. They want to turn their back on a segment of the outdoor crowd....well, then they miss out on their support.

Is it his "morals", or is it just business? More private transfers means more $ for them to run the check, and sell ammo while they are in the store.

I think it's a way of the left to get more control and overwatch of the law abiding citizens. Look at history of what happens when the government wants to crack down on gun owners - they have a list to go by..... I don't watch the news often, just have it on for the weather then off, but why is it that the news rarely says whether a firearm used in a crime was legally or illegally owned? They did mention that in the last shooting outside of Chicago.

New Dicks store in Highland does not have ANY hunting or fishing equipment. 👎 Will be glad to watch their demise...

sad part is, the highland store will prob do great. i have family in that area and in general people are so brainwashed up there because of Chicago they all think guns are evil and nobody needa them and are ok with a million background checks. they were all shocked at Christmas time when i showed them an AR pistol. the look on their faces. like I was some evil terrible person
