I am wanting to get a rem-choke barrel for a 20 gauge 870. Am I better off just buying a new one or should I look for a used one?

I am wanting to get a rem-choke barrel for a 20 gauge 870. Am I better off just buying a new one or should I look for a used one? They don’t usually get worn out so if you found a cheap rust free example you could possibly save a few buck. Put a post on hoosiertopics that you are looking for one. Never know what people have for sale out there.

Used unless you can find a close out sale. Shop around before you decide. I bought a Rem Choke barrel for my 870 Special Field off eBay for $75 new. Got a deal on Carlson chokes for another $25, also new.

When I bought my Winchester model 1200 -16 Gauge it had a full choke . I found a web page called gun barrel exchange on the Internet for a good price . The barrel was a poly choke barrel .

I'd look for a rust free, not stuck choke tube used barrel. If the choke tube is left in the barrel for a while and not loosened and tightened again it could be a PITA to get out.

Check eBay, I've bought one there for my 1300, $150 winchoke about price of new barrel. I bought one for $10 on Craigslist but it was a modified VR, little crooked on the rib still shot Clay's fine.

Ive seen whole guns with good barrels go for same price as their barrels so keep that in mind.
