I'm will be going hunting with my cousin at Henryville.
I've never been to the place and was wondering if anybody here has and what to expect.
I'll hunt Friday and Saturday mornings and maybe Friday evening after thanksgiving day.
Thank you

I am not sure then. I have never heard of it and when I search it nothing comes up.

Most likely, lots of other hunters. We hunted a spot all during bow season a few years ago and never saw another person. Went there on the last day of gun season and could not find anywhere to park.
Not trying to discourage you, but it's reality. CSF is also very large any easy to get lost in. I'd have a GPS and not stray far from a landmark.

If it is a refuge as the name you stated, is it huntable ir possibly draw only?
I've never heard of it either.

I understand that it is public land.
From what I read on the dnr website it is public land hunting. All you need is a license.

It is Clark State forest. Hunted there several times. I believe it is around 26,000 acres. Lot of vertical climbs and descents. It is relatively hard ground to hunt. I hope you are fit. My son in law lives in Henryville and has hunted that area for 25 years. It is pretty crowded on the edges for gun season. Have walked in several miles more than once. Never took a deer. Take beermaker's advice. It is a large place. Don't lose your orientation
Edit to add: Several years back my son in law took a nice 10 point there. Took him six hours to drag it out. And he is no weakling. Former Army infantry. Two tours in Afghanistan and a construction general contractor. I hope you get my point.....

Never hunted CSF, but like all public land there are deer if you know where to look. I'm sure there are HRB bucks taken off of the property every year. Try to find hard to access areas and stay away from the main trails.
