Let me start this off by sharing a bit about me and my situation. I grew up hunting with my father way back in the 80's and 90's but have not been out in probably more than 20 years. In recent years, I have gotten more and more interested in resuming this hobby and the in touch with nature lifestyle that it promotes. Unfortunately, I was injured in my early 20's, and that injury has led to some permanent physical limitations that I will have to work around. While I may be perfectly able to head out into the woods and bag a deer, I would not be able to haul it out of there manipulate and butcher it myself.
So what I am looking for is a partner to go out hunting with who would be willing to help with the break down on any large game we manage to take down. I would be perfectly willing to return the favor, working around my injuries of course, should you shoot something yourself. I would also consider some sort of trade for some of the meat or something if that would be preferred. If your interested, I am sure we can work out the specifics in detail via PM.

How much hunting ground did you say you had and why did you wait till just a few days ago to join this site.
Maybe if you would have joined earlier this year and got to know some of these folks this would be a an easier request to fill but by now most plans have been made.

Maybe if you would have joined earlier this year and got to know some of these folks this would be a an easier request to fill but by now most plans have been made. I am not sure what is being implied there. I joined when I did because that is when I found this site. If my late arrival means something can not be worked out for this year, I am fine with that and will look towards next year. I am certainly not asking anyone to change their plans or to bring an unknown factor into a planned outing with close friends. I simply figured there may be someone who had plans fall through, or who did not have plans for a weekend here or there who might be interested. Since I spaced and left it out of the first post, i live in Central Indianapolis in the Lawrence/Mccordsville area. I do not have my own land suitable for hunting, but there are some public lands available either to the south or the east of me within a hour or two. Again, I get that I just joined the site and nobody knows me yet. If that means nothing works out for this year's season, I am not going to stress about it too much and can always go out and do some small game solo and wait till next year for deer.

Hang in there. It is just timing since it is 3 days until gun season. We have lots of good folks on this site and give them some time. Get to know them and you will find many are willing to help drag them out, cut them up, plan hunts or give/get advice.
Welcome and post often.

I live in central IN, Hamilton county and as LCH said, if you get one down within an hour of me I will help you get it out. If you would like my cell phone number pm me.
Edit to add: Funny how this thread was going to develop or decline like the Tracking Dog Needed thread which was shut down. This forum should be welcoming and inclusive not based on paranoid conspiracy thinking. Just my thoughts and hopes.

I would also consider some sort of trade for some of the meat or something if that would be preferred. If your interested, I am sure we can work out the specifics in detail via PM. Since you have been away from hunting for a decade or two lots of things have changed in the world of Whitetail hunting so let me bring you up to speed in a couple of sentences. There is HARDLY any private ground available to hunt anymore just ask many of the folks on this site who have worn their knuckles to the bone knocking on doors just to receive the big "NO". Then there are the guys that stand in lines hoping to get in on deer reduction hunts on government land only to find the place crawling with other hunters but they contend and some are successful. Lets not forget the regular public ground hunters that put up with every type of personality under the sun on a daily basis and they too harvest nice deer on a regular basis. Now we move up to the guy that has some private ground to hunt on and has to contend with bad neighbors, theft of cameras tree stands and trespassing in general. How about the elite group the ones that own land and groom it for successful hunting by planting and maintaining food plots mineral licks and waterholes. They create refuges, shooting lane comfortable blinds and contend with the trespassers also. Then the is the cost of the hunting license(s) and understanding the seasons. All of the above folks come together on this site to talk about the possibility of harvesting the next state record or even better yet world record deer. You look at this sites list of members and there are more names on it then there is in the Indianapolis phone book, some have died some lost interest and others were here just hoping to cyber snipe or try for a handout. There are a dedicated group of members that even though we don't always get along I know they would get a helping hand if needed because we have come to know each other. Have you inquired with other Indiana deer hunting sites or on facebook you might have luck there. What I am trying to tell you here is that " YOU GOT TO SAY GRACE BEFORE YOU EAT AT THIS TABLE". The above comments are solely those of FEATHERDUSTER and I take full responsibility for any feathers I may have ruffled.

I would also consider some sort of trade for some of the meat or something if that would be preferred. If your interested, I am sure we can work out the specifics in detail via PM. Let me start off by saying I have read all posts in this thread. Some people (like me) can not help because I am the only one allowed to hunt the property I have and with living in NE indiana am too far removed to be available to help. I know there are people on this board that will help if they are in the correct location to be available. The timing of the post is what it is because of you just finding this form but you got to understand that most people would be suspicious be cause of the timing and the way meny people are these days. The people on this form are good people and once they get to know you will do any thing they can to help. I would suggest that when the get together happens next year that you go to it and meet as many of the guys on this form as possible and make friends. Then once they get to know you and understand just what your limitations are some doors should open if you are the kind of person they would like to be around(IE,frindly, positive, honest, good natured, you get the point) at this point you and them can make plans for the upcoming season. I my self do not care if some one is physically limited but I know a couple I would not associate with even if they were not because they are not the kind of person I want to be around. I wish you the best and hope you find some one that can help you in your hunting endeavours. It is always nice to bring a new hunter in to the mix Let me elaborate on my situation. As stated befor I can not take anyone with me but if I could I hunt out of a camper parked in the middle of a field so if I was inclined to invite you at this time I have no idea if you can enter or exit the camper, access the tree stands, climb in to and out of stands, have dietary needs that I would need to figure in to meals, access bath room in camper, need special acomodations for sleeping, so meny questions. If I invited you and found I could not accomadate you I would feel so stupid and embarest because I did not take these things in to conciteration and have put you in an uncomfortable situation. We all have limitations. Some of us can not walk far, some can not climb, some can not shoot well, some can not hear, some can not see good, as long as these are known and figured in to the equation they can be delt with and all can have a good time, which is what it is all about!! Again, best of luck Onebentarrow

Have you taken the time to read all the rules/ requirements to deer hunt? It might benefit you to take a hunters education course and discuss your limitations there.

Wow guys all he was trying to do is say hi and if something develops from there then great. He isn't asking you to give up your most prized deer hunting spot with your most precious stand, give him a little break and at the very least if something opens up later on in the season, after all there are a lot of days left for harvesting deer, may send him a pm.

So if you hunt over here get ahold of me ahead of time and we will arrange something
