Was the same way at Chain of Lakes and of course I had to put my stand so i was facing into the snow and wind. It didn't start snowing down there until 6:15 quit at 10:30 I looked like Frosty the Snowman. Two of us didn't see a single deer. Going to give it a whirl again tommorrow. Ditto on your post. Nothing to add. Time for all the parks to have a 2-3yr hiatus to let things settle down. 100% agree!!

At Summit this morning, had a doe walk out under my stand 10 minutes before shooting light. Nothing since then.

Yes, it's considered public land. I would like to see the State put some $$ into controlling the invasive species at the state parks. The cover is so thick the deer can be 15 yds away and you won't see them. Potato Creek is 3840 acres and the huntable areas are shrinking rapidly. Areas 10-12 years ago that I could shoot 75-100 yds are now down to 10-15 yd shots providing you can actually see the deer. Heck, even a controlled burn would help a lot, and I'm not talking about the native grass areas. Spring Mill has done controlled burns in the oak stands in the past 10 yrs. I bet with some work they may be able to make it happen I am a big fan of controlled burn as it is a win - win. Helps the deer and turkey and helps the hunters. Winamac does that right before the turkey draw hunt. That place is a gem to hunt.

I just finished up hunting the late brown county park hunt. Stayed until 4 yesterday that was tough. Out early today to return to work. Between me and my Partner we never saw a deer just a couple turkeys. Very small number of shots heard both days. We never came across another hunter. beautiful place to hunt but doesn’t seem to be much deer movement the past two days

Last two days at brown county were tough. I never saw a deer either day. Heard 5 shots this morning between 8 and 9 but that was it.

I didnt get to make it back out. Feeling beat down from all the hunting and activities lately, I had to pass and rest up for getting back to work. Seems like the lack of deer was pretty widespread across the state. Bummer.

Hunt the hills that face the south/southeast/East. My hill every fall fills up with deer when it is cold and winds out of the north/northeast. They go about 1/2-3/4 way down(30-50 feet) from the ridge and hang out all day. If you have that harsh wind there will be no deer. In in flat areas find the wind blocked areas.

Sad to see, as they are controlling the deer so wildflowers and hardwood saplings can come back. I don't know what they are going to do now. They are starting to remove some of the invasives now. I think it is Asian Honeysuckle but I noticed work being done in and to the south of the walnut plantation.

I agree that Cliffty Falls is over run with Honetsuckle shrub and Autumn Olive. Its almost impossible to walk thru the north and east sides. I use to hunt east of the campground years ago but now you can’t even walk thru that area.

Hunting large hilled woodlands is much different than fields and scrubby woods

Was like that until an hour before having to leave for the park and didn't think it was a good idea with the amount of clothes I would be wearing......... I ended up sleeping most of the day away.

Yep, with a fast paced schedule, let alone not feeling good, recharging the old batteries are a necessary part of life!

Drove by the east side of Ft Harrison last night around 6:45 and saw a small 8 and a doe standing by the road.
