So my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer this week. I've been scheduling everything for her but we are a little confused. I'm writing this from the tree stand. We are in Lafayette. They were going to send us to a surgeon here but we cancelled it after talking to some people. A fried of mine knows someone at the Cleveland clinic so we are going there next week. We think it's been caught early but will know more next week after MRI. Do we find the surgeon now and worry about an oncologist later? Feel free to share any advice.

My wife's Dr. is Robert Goulet (not the singer) at Community east, in Indy. Her surgery was 5 years ago and we have been absolutely pleased with Him. Have talked with several others who share that opinion.
You & your wife are in my prayers.

The Cleveland Clinic is one of the best.. I think I’d wait and talk to them and let them plot your steps for you.
Prayers for a successful treatment and a speedy and complete recovery.

Cleveland Clinic is indeed one of the best. Also Indianapolis is ranked as one of the top Oncology centers in the country. People from all over the world come here for treatment. A Saudi prince and Lance Armstrong to name two as well as a friend of mine from Colorado. When you visit Cleveland Clinic ask about a more local location for treatment. Perhaps it will disrupt your lives less than they already are. Prayers for your wife and your family.

Real sorry to hear Brad. There are new advancements every day in cancer treatment so even a treatment in the last 5 years is way behind the changes.
Ask about CAR-T treatment.not sure if it is available for breast cancer but it has saved 2 people I know in the past 2 or 3 years. No radiation or chemo. One kid was on 3rd relapse and in very desperate place. The other was an older lady that was not responding well and was accepted as a trial candidate for an odd cancer. She has been free of cancer for several years.

Thanks all. I think I'm good now. Just talked to someone at the Cleveland clinic. Will probably do surgery there and anything else local.

As has been said, Cleveland Clinic is Top Notch. I had a brain tumor dealt with there, and the hospital and staff are nothing short of fabulous. Sounds like you have prayer covered here, but I`m sending more up as well. Keep us posted on how everything goes.

Thanks all. I think I'm good now. Just talked to someone at the Cleveland clinic. Will probably do surgery there and anything else local. You are definitely on the right track, my mother had to have a laryngectomy done around 6 weeks ago. She had it done at Indy, as for you allowing Cleveland to do it and then all the follow up stuff local is absolutely the way to go. After the surgery and things start shifting to the "local" route ask the hospital if they have any recommendations to someone near home. I will say the only thing that we found to be a nuisance is the recovery time being so far away from home. It really seemed to depress her as she was wanting to go home sooner than what the Dr.'s would allow her.
Don't be afraid to lean on people around you as you will probably need them while you are there with her you will really appreciate everything they will do for you.

God Bless you and yours, 10point. We have had a couple of cancer scares in the family recently, and it's really easy to get overwhelmed thinking about it all. Prayers for a GREAT outcome.

You will appreciate a little more the days you can get out. Prayerfully, it's just a little bump in the road of life.
