Thinking about trying out Turkey hunting this year with my crossbow. Since I don't know much about it, I thought I might try keeping an eye out while Deer hunting, but I was wondering if I have to get decoys or is it possible to hunt without them?
I'm not sure how close any would come without. Any tips I should know?

Read up on turkey hunting, fall hunting is a lot different than spring hunting.
Arrow placement is very critical, decoys only if you are hunting turkey alone, if your hunting deer and hope to see a turkey then no decoys needed.

Like Featherduster said. Way diff. I get one every Fall while deer hunting. I always shoot mine in the head just like the spring. No decoys or calling for me either.

That's kinda what I was thinking as well (Target of opportunity), but I wasn't sure how that worked without decoys or calls.
I'll see if I can find some info on Fall turkey hunting. Thanks!

I always have a mouth call with me in hopes of seeing and calling one in. Last season the lead hen and I went back and forth for over an hour until the flock finally came close enough for a shot.
