Listened to a recent Wired to Hunt podcast that had Mike Drury on discussing his knowledge on deer movement. He and his brother just released a new app called DeerCast that seems pretty incredible. It takes every factor from barometer, wind direction, wind speed, temperature, phase of deer season, moon phase, etc (roughly 20-24 factors) and dumps out an hour by hour recommendation on how deer will move. It also provides detailed analysis/videos on why these different weather factors affect deer a certain way during that time of season. Has anyone played around with this app much? I just downloaded this morning.... www.druryoutdoors.com/deercast.php#.W4k3HfZFymQ

IMO...The Drury's have always been passionate about hunting and didn't seem to sell their brand above their passion to provide a high quality hunting show. I have listened to Mark on a previous podcast and his knowledge and drive to learn is amazing. He records and logs days hunts. Temp, barom, rain, wind, humidity, moon phase and he has really started to understand the deer on HIS farms. Do I think he is onto something, absolutely. I feel like the Drury Bothers are 100% real and passionate about hunting and QDMA. Good men. So for weather factors, these are all animals have to navigate and sense the world around them. I have always had better luck fishing when the BP is high, some people get headaches or migraines in HP systems. Deer move later in the night in full moon nights so I am totally convinced that weather is the main factor we should be looking at as hunters. I'm glad its a free download and I honestly trust the Drurys to provide accurate, studied products to our sport

I saw that a month or so ago but it wasn't available for download @ that time.
I agree that the Drury brothers seem to try and hone in on weather conditions, moon phase, etc when determining what seems to put more deer on their feet during daylight hours.
Since the app is free (for this year), I may give it a try.
Thanks for the link.

I listen to the podcast one and a half times and I still think I need to go back over it to couple more. Very interesting information the school have to spin around in my mind for a while. Sounds like he was against the idea of crowdsourcing deer movement I'm not sure I agree with his argument is or seems like it would be a good thing to know when other local hunters are seeing deer movement.

So I saw 3 bucks in a soybean field tonight at 530 off emerson near the 65 southport exit. He talks about before and after the fronts and when the rain finally stopped those bricks were out eating. I have drove past that field hundreds of times and have never seen 3 bucks right off the road. Cool stuff

Cool stuff I've seen a nick buck just south of there in the weeds where they were supposed to put Cabelas.
