Thought I'd start this so everyone can show some progress of their food plots. I planted about 10.days earlier than normal due to forecasted rains. Definitely looks like we timed it right. This is seven card stud along with some extra turnips. Between 1/4 & 1/3 acre. This end is where I sowed clover last year. It got mowed and I fertilized it along with putting some more clover and turnips in.

That looks great!! I'm late getting my plot in, just got the last one in today. Hydraulics on the tractor went South 2-3 weeks ago and I just got it out of the shop. 1 ac planted in tall time tubers, purple top turnips and some forage oats. There is a 1/4 ac patch of clover right next to it that has been there for 3 years now. Praying for rain!!!

We did some burning yesterday and tilled strips in the plot where the clover was weak. Fertilized and spread pure attraction on one side and beets and greens on the other. Some of the Egyptian wheat screen that had blown down came back up.

Burning is fun! I learned for best results leave the vegetation 6-12" long before spraying with glyphosate. The spots I had mowed down to about 4" didn't have enough fuel to continue to burn

Its amazing what some well timed rains will do .... this is the first time since doing plots that rain has come early and often. This is about 5 days after the first rain. This is about 12 days after the first rain. My second plot looks just as good.

I have creek bottom land and have hauled tons of rocks off the place. Finally surrendered and just plant over them

River bottom...not a rock to be found. I mistook the light colored objects as rocks. My mistake. You are indeed a fortunate man. My creek bottom produces them by the 1,000's every time I plow. One of these days I may invest in a rock picker for the front of my tractor. Already ran the hydraulics. Needs and wants......

Got my Whitetail Institute tubers spread yesterday. Liked the looks of the ground so well that I ordered some oats, winter peas and Imperial clover. Frost seeded some Imperial Clover last winter and it looks fantastic. Planning on two acres of the clover next Spring. That is really nice clover. Might figure this out some day...... Ordered the seed yesterday. Expected delivery is tomorrow. Comes from Lexington, KY. I like that

After the monsoon yesterday my plots got more than enough rain....both are looking great. Hopefully the river doesn't get too high. My plotwatcher shows plenty of deer already using them including yesterday during the rain.

5.25" of rain since Thursday. My tubers have exploded. Winter peas and oats not so much yet. Clover is great. When the sun comes out I should see some good growth
