I bought one of these sniper outlaw tripod stands at Menards last year when they were clearing them out. Hunted out of it once and the seat is awful. I'm wondering if anyone here has one or if they have done any modifications to it. I'm wondering about just taking the whole seat out and using a camping chair. They seat is in the center so you have enough room to turn completely around but it puts you to close to the edge. Being able to sit back further in a more comfortable chair would be good I think. www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/sniper-outlaw-16039-tripod-swivel-deer-stand?a=1952611

I've got one very similar from Menards, but no armrests. The seat does suck, but I put camo burlap around the shooting rail and just stand up when I need to stretch. Mine is also up against a tree, so I can lean against it to break up my outline.
I wonder how easy it would be to bolt up a swiveling boat seat in place? My worry with a lawn chair would be that a leg would collapse or even just slide off of the edge of the platform and take me with it.

It would be pretty easy to make a 3 1/2" lip around the floor with 2x4's screwed together. I'd rope up an adjustable height swivel office chair. I picked up one that the local bank was throwing out when they remodeled just for that purpose.

I think I'm going to scrap that idea.

Yep, my dad bought a couple. I don't like them and won't hunt out of them. Scares me just climbing up them. Feel like one of those little square tube steps is going to shear off at any minute and rip my guts out.
