This is bologna everyone knows that there aren't any big games deer in Indiana. I think that the buckeyes and Kentuckian are crossing the borders to check them in.

Those that are not listed are the smart states that don't want television hunters crawling all over their state killing their deer.

How many of you guys know someone personally that has shot a Boone and Crockett? I know 2 fairly well.. one a co-worker that shot a 199 gross NT that just barely made the book net (a huge deer-I got to touch that one). The other, my dad's cousin shot a buck (1990 I think) that was world's #1 NT with a handgun for awhile. It's hanging in my great-aunts house. In 18 deer seasons, I don't think I've seen a deer from the stand that would break 170.

I've got one hanging on my wall that my deceased uncle killed. It's not in Hoosier book, but is in B&C, 177+ typical.

What I hate about these lists is that the flocks follow..... We have enough non-resident hunters as it is in my opinion. I am even seeing leasing now that I had never seen before. They couldn't find deer in their state so they came here! As much as I would love to take a B&C deer.....I think I would be better served to just leave well enough alone and not have it entered. I will admit - I have my deer scored....but that is more so I know. I'll be honest - I had no idea what 140" of antler looked like. You think you know, but until you get some reference....it can be difficult.

I do a ton of out of state hunting myself, so I can't blame someone else wanting to come here as a NR. I don't care for them leasing up ground though.
Myself, there are a lot of states I'd travel to for whitetails before Indiana. But we've got it better than most!

I'd rather have the traveling out of state hunters around me than some of the "shoot everything that moves to fill the freezer" locals. They are also spending money in our communities which is good for everyone.
Far as the leasing goes, that's just reality. Pretty much have to pay to play if you want a decent place to hunt anymore. Farm economy has a lot to do with that, they need the additional income.

They're not here to shoot there county limt of deer and tag them with LT license then invite the rest of their family to do the same.

I have been hunting for 35 years and my biggest bucks to date are only in the high 130's. I can honestly say in all the years and thousands of hours in a tree stand I have NEVER seen a Boone and Crockett buck. I may have seen a 150 once or twice.
