While the harvest report is still MIA, the hunting and trapping guide is out now.
The bonus antlerless quotas are in the guide for this upcoming deer season. There are no counties north of Indianapolis that are a 4 or above. As a matter of fact, last season there were 37 counties that were a 4 and 12 that were an 8. This season there are 21 counties that are a 4 and 3 that are an 8. The 8 counties are Floyd, Clark and Harrison.

I hunt primarily in Washington (which went from an 8 to a 4), Orange (which stayed a 4) and Harrison (which stayed an 8) so no huge changes for me.

A lot of decrease's. Happy my home county now a 3 and out of late antlerless season. I think hunter's will see most change when a county drops out or stays out of the late antlerless season.

First time the NW counties are under 4 in as long as I remember. Fine with me. It definately reflects the herd numbers lately.

Time will tell. Even with these changes, I still think that barring a major EHD outbreak or another lousy opening firearms weekend, this years harvest numbers will end up somewhere between 120,000 to 125,000.

I'm curious if they will eliminate the deer reduction zone in vanderburgh county after going to 2 from 8.

Looks like they are adjusting down and getting close to their population goal.

I don't care about the late antlerless season, period. Have at it if you like, none of my concern. The older and grouchier that I get, the less interested I become. I went once last year just to entertain the B.I.L and nearly froze to death. No thanks.

LOL Go up to Northern Wisconsin for their normal gun deer season and it's usually been colder than the latest season here.

Maybe my memory isn't what I thought it used to be.....
Can anybody remember Thanksgiving being the middle weekend of firearms season in back to back years before? I'm sure it has to have happened, but I'm just not remembering it.
