I bought a used Ozonics from my taxidermist. Its a 200 model but has an extra over sized battery. I fashioned a "closet" out of plastic sacks in my garage and used it to de-scent my hunting stuff..much like this guy did. It works.
One stand on my food plot is almost unhuntable as the hill behind it and the pines in front of it tends to make the wind swirl. I've used the Ozonics there a half dozen times and no deer smelling me - that I know of.

I use them now but, I'd like to steer away from them. Deeply considering getting a scent crusher closet for storage and a scent tote for transportation to and from the woods.

I bought a portable closet on Amazon which had shelves and places to hang stuff up on and it zips up then I bought a little ozone generator from Amazon as well. The scent crusher closet puts out around 500mg an hour I believe and the one I bought puts out around 600. It says it's for purifying water or something odd. I put the ozone generator in the top since it's supposed to be heavier and fall and I put a little fan in the bottom to help circulate it. I have maybe $80 in it. Keeps all my clothes nice and tidy as well. The ozone generator has a little timer on it so I can set it for 30 minutes after I'm done hunting or usually I just set it for 30 minutes when I get up then get in the shower and get ready. I think the scent crusher is awesome but I can't justify the cost when I could get something similar for a fraction of the price. I use them now but, I'd like to steer away from them. Deeply considering getting a scent crusher closet for storage and a scent tote for transportation to and from the woods.

Pardon my ignorance, I just don't know a lot about these ozone generators. But, do these units make a lot of noise?

My experience is the ozone generator itself is almost silent. The fan that blows out and dispurses the ozone is like a computer fan (some actually are computer fans). Most make minimal white noise deer seem not to notice. Most of the fans have a db rating (noise). I have discovered in my builds that fan placement on the box varies the noise of the fan. Think a deer would notice if your CPU were running beside you 15 feet in the air?

Does that go for the ozone generators that are used in the homes? Such as the one guys would use to make their own scent free area at home?

I think that ozone has merit but I plan to stick with smoke as my system .....

This one specifically makes about as much noise as the air bubbles for a fish tank. Kind of that small compressor noise. Fine for a half hour inside but this one would be noisy if you tried to set it in a tree. Pardon my ignorance, I just don't know a lot about these ozone generators. But, do these units make a lot of noise?

Also think about the items you put in there. There are certain materials that ozone will degrade rapidly and others that it has little affect on. I didn't notice any issues with putting all my gear in there but I probably only ran it 15-20 times last year. I've heard bad things happen to stretchy waist bands or the shoulder straps of bibs if they are stretchy. I had my neoprene boots and socks and everything in there and didn't notice any issues with mine.
I tested it a few times when it was hot out throw a sweaty shirt in there and when it's done you don't smell anything on the shirt. Not to say it's been cleaned but there is no odor. Also I put a sweatshirt that got washed and then sat in the washer for a day or so so it had that slight mildew smell as well as laundry smell after 30 minutes my wife couldn't smell a thing on it not the mildew smell or the laundry/fabric softener. Not to say a deer wouldn't pick something up but I was impressed.

I was just curious on the noise because when I'm up at 3:30-4:00 am I do not want to wake up my wife. Otherwise I might find out how far that thing will go up my rear!

I started out a couple years ago with the scentcrusher go in the vehicle, wanted to see what the hype was. Went thru a drive thru and my truck smelled like the food bad. I plugged it in and completely gone. Another instance a friend of mine smoked in it, never would of let that happen normally, but i wanted a true test with the ozone, totally killed the smell. Now i have a couple of scentlok enforcer units i run in my totes and scentfree bags. Needless to say, im a believer in the stuff.

My question about those is, since the clothing items are folded will the odor molecules still get trapped? Will the ozone still be able to effectively work?

I wonder which one came first, the expensive scent crusher or the $50 Amazon.
