Just got back from Gulf Shores. It is a different kind of hot there, like the sun is directly on top of you and the humidity is present all day and night. I could get used to it though. I was looking at the weather trends for the year and the lowest average high is low 50's and low is in the 40's. Beats the hell out of the crap we had here from December to late April.

Headed to Indian shores, Florida next Friday for a week. Hoping to do some off shore in the mornings jack, snapper, and grouper if we get lucky.

After the miserable winter and spring we had, bring it on. When I was in HS we mowed grass, painted fence, and pitched hay all summer and that led straight into 2x day football practices. Summer breaks during college I worked construction all day and mowed grass after work. I guess I have just been used to the heat for so long that It doesn't bother me. Everyone is 100% correct about staying hydrated. Just today I had a siding crew that gave it up at noon. As the contractor was telling me how $#%&@!g hot it was, he had a cigarette in one hand and a soda in the other. My hispanic brick masons have a Gott cooler full of Gatorade on every scaffold and none of them smoke. They work daylight to almost dark in the Summer until they get caught up from winter and spring. This right here is an example of how stupid people are when they say immigrants are "taking jobs our jobs!". Don't want to do the work? Don't complain/stop someone from doing it when you won't.

I got some new ink on my arm. This heat irritates it. I'm trying to stay in the AC until it heals just a little more.

My factory has twenty 50 foot furnaces that run at or above 1000°C. It's hot in the place no matter what day or time of year. To be honest, I try to avoid the air conditioning as much as possible. It simply makes me sick. This is also true for outside dogs whether it be heat or cold. Make certain plenty of water is available and their/our bodies will take care of the rest. These laws requiring animals to be brought inside at a certain temperature are extremely dangerous to the animals they are trying to protect.

Thorny osage limbs with leaves, an osage tribal symbol, and some native hunter cave drawings. All of that kind of wraps around a deer skull and broken primitive arrow that I've had for a while. 3.5 hours worth of ink. I tried working on some stuff outside the next day and after about 5 minutes I changed my mind.

Cut grass and stacked about 200 logs this afternoon. Hot and nasty, but toning up for deer season.

Would be an expensive load of wood by the time I got back.

Around 24" at base and 18" at 9 feet. With the new wall last year and 500 tons of fill dirt has taken it's toll on the tree. Plan on milling that log. A friend has a portable saw mill on a trailer.

I'm a the 4-H Fair all this week. Superintendent of the rabbit and poultry barn. Trying to keep all of the 1100 animals alive and comfortable in this heat! The animals and kids are doing fine, it's the parents that are a pain in the butt. Certainly know how to try ones patience.
