Is it hot? Yes. Is it harder on us as we get older? Yes. Can it be dangerous? Yes. But is it as bad as the news makes it out to be? NO! Likely not. Wife and I were talking about not remembering all the advisories and warnings back when we were growing up 30yrs ago. We still played outside, still worked outside, still sat in the shade outside. Now they tell you to stay inside in the AC. Lol. There must have been more common sense to go around back then.

When it got hot like this when I was a little shaver, seemed we were always baling hay. Since I was the young one I was always in the mow stacking. I survived and didn't think anything about it.

Hot or not my lawn and all of my neighbors lawns still need to be mowed it just needs to be done. Besides the sun won't kill me as long as I stay hydrated. On the bright side bass fishing has been good for me these last few weeks.

Love it hot, going to drop a big oak this week and split for firewood. You know the old saying, Wood so nice it heats you twice.

I hate hot weather. I'd rather it be 0* than 90*. My personal sweet spot is about 45-60*F.
The deer don't seem to mind it though. I've been seeing lots of deer out in the fields by around 6 PM.

Ditto. I shut down outdoor work when it is over 90 degrees with a high dew point. Am I weak because of this. Don't think so. Just a personal preference and I have nothing to prove to anyone.

I like it all but do better in heat than bitter cold. I don't physically work hard for my job but do a lot of walking at work. It was hot immediately today, lots of sweating. Just drink lots of water.
It wasnt that long ago AC was a luxory not everyone had. I remember sleeping on the lawn of my best friends some nights because it was so darn hot in his bedroom upsrairs.

Well... I’ve been in the heat working since 500 this morning and will be in it until the sun goes down tonight. Still can’t convince me it’s ok and sitting inside in ac isn’t a better alternative.

The problem with heat is that it can sneak up on you. One minute you're fine and the next minute it has you down. Just plain old heat exhaustion is bad enough but heat stroke can kill you..
I worked exposed to the heat for about 5 hours today. Some of it was in the shade inside a partially finished Habitat home but most was in the sun. We were fortunate to have a decent breeze. I drank a gallon of water and two Gatorades and when I got home I drank some more water.... Whatever you do when working in heat is not let your thirst be the judge of when you need to drink water or electrolyte drinks. By the time your thirst kicks in you are partially dehydrated. Be proactive in replenishing fluids...

After the miserable winter and spring we had, bring it on.
When I was in HS we mowed grass, painted fence, and pitched hay all summer and that led straight into 2x day football practices.
Summer breaks during college I worked construction all day and mowed grass after work. I guess I have just been used to the heat for so long that It doesn't bother me.
Everyone is 100% correct about staying hydrated. Just today I had a siding crew that gave it up at noon. As the contractor was telling me how $#%&@!g hot it was, he had a cigarette in one hand and a soda in the other. My hispanic brick masons have a Gott cooler full of Gatorade on every scaffold and none of them smoke. They work daylight to almost dark in the Summer until they get caught up from winter and spring.

Cold weather doesn't bother me but the heat me brings me down fast. As a kid growing up in the city and not being able to get a decent breeze I really hated when it got like this. The closest thing to air conditioning was standing in front of the open freezer doors at the grocery store.

Was in it myself for 10 hours today. I work outside daily, all day. Water, Gatorade, and a cooler full of ice is literally your savior is this type of heat.
In Iraq our weather station measured temps up to 150. There for several months it was buried during the day. We did have very good working a/c units in our tents. But when the temps would reach that high our generators would overheat and shut down, leaving us with no power, which would mean no a/c! Talking about miserable fellas! Always thankful! Could be worse...

I would rather it be 90 than 20. The heat never bothered me but the cold kills me. Cannot keep fingers or toes warm. To meny cloths on to move. 10 min to get ready to go out with longjohns and the outer wear. The heat I can just go. If I get too hot I just hose off with water and keep going. Try that at 20 with warm water. Haha.

It was rather juicy at work Monday night! It only took about one hour before my underwear and socks were sopping wet. Lol. Our breakroom was 96deg at lunchtime. It gets full sun for 2-3 hrs right before we eat. So, I ate in my car with the ac on. The temp at my toolbox was 120deg for awhile when the sun was angled in. Nice! Lol. Then, the dang mosquitoes showed up full force at sundown. Dang they were bad. Anyway, we survived, and luckily I had several AC repair jobs to enjoy when completed.

I'll take the hot over the cold. Like Bill, I'm taking down a black walnut this week. Great to sweat out all the heavy metals and junk. Like the first few hours in the morning 6-9am

I square baled hay Friday (94 degrees), Saturday (96 degrees) and Sunday (96 degrees). Baled on ground and we picked up and delivered and unloaded 3 loads. Just 2 of us. 620 bales..... Good weight lose program..

I'll take cool weather over hot any day of the year. Yes, bitter cold with a wind can be just as bad as the hot stuff, but there are only so many clothes you can take off and not get arrested. As soon as heat indexes hit 90 I'm toast.

I was gonna refresh this thread, but someone beat me to it!
I put my 8hrs in tonight at work, and I survived. Lol. Just took a few timeouts to cool off, and on with my day. They finally fixed our AC this week, so it was a nice treat to beat the heat.
For the record, I prefer cool fall weather and a little snow on the ground. But, it seems like I always get more done when its hot. So I guess thats why I live in NW IN. Wait 5 min and the weather will change. Lol
