I've been hunting in Ohio (mostly) and Switzerland counties for a number of years. Where I hunt, deer populations have ebbed and flowed quite a bit and I'm wondering what everyone else has seen?

Used to have deer everywhere. In the yard, driveway and on the property. Then EHD hit several summers back. The stench of rotting deer was horrible. Couldn’t sit outside. The bodies were in the ponds and in the creek. It was a mess. The DNR fed us the line of shooting the does, you can’t harvest enough. Well, yes you can. The population went way down. It has bounced back, but it has taken several years. Not to the level of pre EHD, but more sightings. I take one deer a year, but I hunt almost every day during gun and muzzleloader seasons. Live on my property so I can walk out the door and be hunting in any direction. Interesting I looked back on my harvest records. I generally don’t shoot till mid December. Weather never seems to be cold until then.

I saw more deer last season than I've seen any other season and I hunted considerably less days. It was crazy some evenings.

My home area in Switz. is pretty heavily managed by most neighbor's and I am seeing great number's and good quality of bucks. So far this spring I am seeing lot's of fawn's and deer in general.

We took 5 deer off of our 75 acres last season and the season before. I am still seeing good numbers of deer on camera and in person. I've had a group of does in the field next to the house almost every day.

Didn't vote but buddies property in Switzerland Co seemed to have a good population. It was the first year. Took 3 bucks and 2 does off 70 acres (neighbors wanted us to take more deer due to high number of deer collisions). Seems to have plenty deer on camera.

With the 60-90% EHD wipe out in 2012 each year has been getting better. No way close to 2011 year.

I’ve hunted Ohio Cty for the last 25 yrs. The deer population seems to be on the rise slowly but surely since the EHD hit a few years back.

I’ve hunted Ohio Cty for the last 25 yrs. The deer population seems to be on the rise slowly but surely since the EHD hit a few years back. Same thing for my area in Northern Warrick County. We and Pike county got hit hard in 2007. It turned back deer sightings for me to the early seventies levels. Three years later you couldn't tell there was ever a problem.. Last year I missed seeing deer on 3 out of 37 trips to the stand. The sightings were anywhere from 1 to 14 deer per sit.
