Saw quite a few today on a ride over to Cabelas in Hammond. Went thru LaPorte, Porter, and Lake counties. Lot of toms fanning that stand out like a sore thumb in the fields.

Got the calls out today, cleaned up the 12 gauge and dusted off the decoy. Fresh batteries in the flash light and headlamp. Creek still flooded. Need to cut some shooting lanes in the brush and mark some spots.

I haven't ran into turkeys in my usual spots for a few years now. Haven't had the time to go out scouting due to school, but either way I am still excited. I am trying to get out for April 22 the Sunday of youth. Wish I could go out Saturday, but I couldn't get off work.
