I thought I might embarrass myself and give it a shot next month; I wonder about spectators, can they watch somehow? I'm thinking my daughter might (long shot) be interested if she could see one.

All the 3D coursed Ive been on allow spectators to go with you. I imagine they would want as many youth as possible to get involved. They even have a youth class. h.h.

I take my girlfriend to several shoots. She enjoys taking pictures (of whatever) while I shoot.

At the Conservation Club, click on the link in the list of events at the bottom of the home page for info. It's a couple of miles north off 252, west of Morgantown.

bschwein, I think you must have seen an old schedule or something.
I have the 2007 shoot schedule for Morgantown in front of me, and the next shoot is August 5th.
They almost always shoot the first Sunday of the month, March thru September, but depart from that routine for the July shoot because of the 4th of July holiday. The July shoot was this past Sunday.
It's a real good place to go shoot. Nice people, good facilities, and they set up a real good shoot. Nearly all in the woods, too, which is appreciated during the hot days of summer.
Your friend may have been thinking of a different shoot, or a time long ago, in regard to the door prizes. The big fall shoots in September at Bloomington and at Bedford usually give out lots of door prizes, but I don't remember Morgantown being into that very much.
I've been a regular over there for several years now, and a member for the last few years. Be glad to see some HI-ers show up over there. I think you'd enjoy it.

Yep. I got it wrong, too. Read the schedule right, but for some reason I thought that last weekend was the 14th/15th!
Hope you can make it out to the shoot.
Bschwein, hadn't heard of that shoot. Where is this Presnells Plantation located?
I'll likely be floating a river that weekend, but someone else on here might be interested.

I shot it today, 1st 3D shoot - what a blast! Made some good shots and got fooled as well; misjudged the elk target distance and sailed one right over his shoulder; possibly the the biggest target on the course, oh well. Don't know how this course compares to others but I liked it real well.

Shot it today as well. A good friend and I got there about 10AM. Had a real good time, as always.
Shot OK on the first half, but fatigue was definitely taking it's toll on the second half. I just haven't shot nearly as much as normal last winter or this summer, and it shows.
Came back with all my arrows except the one I buried in the soft dirt near that darned frog at the end of the lake. Just two blanks, but a lot of fives on the second half. Got to start shooting more again, even if it interferes with my golf.
A couple of others I would recommend would be the ones at Atterbury, and Nancy's Broken Arrow out near Cloverdale. Also, if you don't mind driving down past Columbus, there's one just about to Scipio called Sand Creek Archery that is a real good shoot.

I did manage to keep all my arrows which surprised me. The frog was cute, very appropriate setting; I went a little high on him and took a 5 though. I was getting tired at the end as well, the humidity made it uncomfortable. I had 2 or 3 5's before the last target and managed to get a 10 on the final deer to redeem myself a little; or was that the spotted moose like target, I couldn't figure out what that was supposed to be. I learned a lesson on the bonus stegosaurus; I watched 1 guy put it low in the dirt and the following 2 low in the leg so I figured it must be farther than it looked, nope, sailed it right over top of him - shoot your own game.

Bschwein, hadn't heard of that shoot. Where is this Presnells Plantation located? . If your on Hwy 252, Go North at Bob Poynters chevy dealer, I think that is Maple street not sure, just turn right next to the chevy dealer. Go until you hit a T. Turn left and as soon as you start to go around a curve to the right, turn left into a long gravel driveway. Theres a Pressnel sign at the road. Follow the road back to you see a Big Pole barn. Sign in starts at 8 on saturday.
