I am trying to find a rod holder/ carrier for this summer that can handle 4 rods. I used to be one that would throw them in the bed of my truck and go but as my rods get nicer and more expensive I don't want to have this as my normal transport. I also have two rods that my grandpa made for me that would be a shame not to use but I would feel terrible if the tip broke on either of them.
I've looked for some rod holders and it seems like they are all for 2 piece rods (relatively inexpensive) or are a single airline type of carrier (cost a small fortune).
Anyone have anything or seen anything out there that would be a nice way to protect and carry a few rods?

Are you wanting to protect the reel also or just he rod I would prefer to not have to take the reel off every time I transport it. I have seen a few of the 6" PVC tubes which may be an option. It sounds like you can fit maybe 5-6 rods in there. I thought about taking a PVC tube and having screw in caps on each end then gluing in 4 2" tubes inside to separate the 4 rods. This would let me insert 2 from each end and not crowd too many reels on one side. Went to Home Depot last night and for the cost of doing it this way I may as well look for a pelican case or similar.

I’m just thinking if you bought some inch or inch and a half pvc and put it all together then attached something to keep the reel pulled right against the tube you would be good. I’d say just look on google at diy rod holder

Those cheap little nylon rod sleeves do wonders for protecting my rods in back of the pickup truck. For airline travel or long trips I take the reels off and use a PVC tube.

I use a 4 inch pvc tube for long trips. Remove reels and put in a bag. I have busted so many tips off my rods I am unphased. Keep glue and replacement tips handy.
But the homemade rods would hurt to damage. Good luck.

I have both the sleeves and a piece of PVC tube. Both work well, depending on the level of protection you want.
