I've got a 5 or 6 year old SONY Surround Sound system that the rear speakers no longer work. The little green power light is lit on the receiver but the speakers have zero sound coming out of them. These the wireless receiver and speakers.
I've checked all wiring and connections and cant figure it out. Any ideas or suggestions?
TIA....

That's a good idea to make sure they work. Also I think those are generally Bluetooth. I would see if there is a way to re-pair the speakers to the main unit or not.

First I'd unplug and let sit for 30 minutes to reset itself. I don't think swapping the speakers front to back is going to make a difference seeings how they are wireless. Last I'd repare them. If you can delete them and re add them on would be the way to go. Only other thing I could think of is do you have anything wireless near them? I've rarely seen it happen but have ran into it at work trouble shooting wireless dtv boxes that customer was having issues with the signal dropping out. Couldn't figure out what the problem was since if I took that box into another room it worked perfectly. The problem was she had a Amazon wireless speaker sitting right beside the box. I move the speaker to the other side of the kitchen and her signal on the box went from one bar yellow to 4 bars green, instantly.
Unfortunately if none of these work, you're up the preverbial creek. Taking it to get it fixed isn't worth it. The majority of tv and radio equipment anymore is throw away.

I’ll unplug it when I hit the sack tonight and let it sit all night.
What is “repare”?
Thanks..

Don't know if I spelled it right. There should be a function like Bluetooth where you set the receiver to find the wireless speakers. There should be a "serial number" floating around it the air that the receiver needs to find. Each wireless speaker should have it's own so the receiver knows where to send the signal.

Shutting it down for a reset didn't work.. I've got three front speakers and the woofer so it doesn't sound too bad.. It just bugs me it is not doing what it is supposed to do..

Does the receiver have different surround sound options? My MUCH older surround sound system has the option to turn off the back and/or center channel.

The wording on the front says - Blue-Ray Disc/DVR Home Theatre System BDV-N79OW
When I originally set this up many moons ago I had a set up screen on the TV that walked me through it. I can not get that screen again for some reason.. Maybe I just forgot how? I've pushed just about every button on the remote and get nothing..
Just about to shuck it and buy another one?

As you can probably tell by now I DONT HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT I AM DOING..
When I hooked up my FireStick there is only one HDMI input on my TV so I unplugged the HDMI cord from the system and plugged in the FireStick. I had sound so I thought its OK.
Now in trying to get the rear speakers to work I unplugged the FireStick from the TV and plugged in the system. I could then access the set up screen. I ran a speaker calibration and it said all speakers were OK. I said OK.. I'll just plug the Firestick into the system input and I should be good to go. Going all through the setup screen I can not find anywhere to recognize the FireStick input. There is some HDMI inputs 1 and 2, which I plugged into 1, as my input but just can get the Firestick input to be recognized. Crazy...
I JUST know it is me and I'm overlooking something BUT did I ever tell you I HATE electronics?
I'll keep fumbling around and maybe the old blind boar will find the acorn..
