Just got my MRI results back and they're not good,my neck and lower back are both severe and I need to see a neurosurgeon to see what can be done.

What do you mean by severe? I have had bulging discs in my neck since 2012. It sucks. But I wake up everyday thankful that I still haven’t had to get cut by the Dr. My wife had her lower back operated on in August. She is extremely happy with the results. She went through 6 weeks of hell with herniated discs before they got her on the table.
Keep as positive as possible. Most neurosurgeons don’t rush to surgery unless it is really bad.

I've had 5 bulging discs since 2,004 but t's not a matter of slipped discs, bulging disc or herniated discs or anything like that,it's a matter of degeneration caused by degenerative disc syndrome and arthritis to the point that the nerve clearance is almost gone. Severe bilateral foraminal stenosis is the term they used on the report. Some other areas were moderate and a few minimal but the 2 severe ones are the ones she's really worried about which are both in the lower back,my neck's not good either but not as bad as my lower back. I didn't say I was having surgery,I don't want surgery either, won't know what the surgeon will want to do or what my other options are,but any way you slice it,it doesn't sound good. www.laserspineinstitute.com/back_problems/foraminal_stenosis/severe/

I will say after everything you & I have going on Squirrelhunter I would definitely get a second opinion before anyone cuts on you . I wish the best for you as the spine is a very serious thing to operate on . Steve Kerr the basketball coach about the same time had the same thing happen to him as me . The difference is I ended up with nerve damage . I thank God everyday I didn’t end up paralyzed

Oh I definitely will get another opinion if it comes to that, having it operated on scares me to death but if it comes down to being operated on or becoming paralyzed eventually if I don't then I probably will. I don't want to take a chance of being paralyzed either way and I sure can't financially afford an operation but I'll do what I have to do I guess. The surgeon may not even want to yet and may have other ideas to try, time will tell.
