Ain't no deer south of Indy. jimstc was down running dogs with me today. He can tell you the lack of sign on public land. Last Saturday we ran dogs at Glendale. Snow was on the ground. Deer sign everywhere. They are even bedding on the cut paths. Bet we saw 50 beds in 5 hours. Tracks looked like highways. Droppings everywhere. I mean consistent trails of droppings. I was so impressed that I plan on getting a motel room hear Glendale for three days during the week to hunt deer there next season. Today we hit a couple of HNF spots in a county south of Bloomington . There was consistent sign and the deer trails were so worn there wasn't even grass on some trails. I will hunt there too next season. Got me motivated. Span's dogs were champs again today. Ten plus miles and busted a bunch of rabbits. An outstanding day!

Lots of barking dogs but where's the meat😉 Blame the shooter. How does one blow a literal hole in the ground with a 28 gauge? We had several up and they ran well but they kept running them under the tore down trailer out there. Had Bo and Stryker and three others. Bo and Stryker at one point lapped the other dogs. They were going one way and the other two and the rabbit were coming back the opposite. I really need to get a matched pack. One he shot we ran a couple of times out there and he always runs them along a cliff and scares the heck outta me. Soon as I knew it was that one I made him kill it. Two put over ten miles and rest about 8 in about 3 hours or so

My first shot inside of ten yards was ill advised to say the least. Left a baseball size hole in the ground. Would have destroyed the rabbit. Rabbit ran past us heading for a sink hole. I swung around and killed it at 25 yards+/-.

Headed out here in a few to try out that second spot up on the hill I showed you.
