I recently posted a teaser video to my page/website, but wanted to post a text version of it here for dialogue and discussion.
In today's world, the common practice has become pointing the finger...I beg everyone to pause, reflect and ask yourself one question. Perhaps IMO the most pivotal question serious hunters should ask themselves constantly:
"What can you do to make your next season better?"
The answers span across many many different aspects...I'm currently working on all the various possible options for answering that huge question and share when finished.
However, so...what can/are you doing to make this next season better?

Putting in food plots earlier and more scouting.

In my area, we are staying vigilant, with cameras and in person, watching the poacher and trespasser crowd. It has proven successful in the past and I see no reason why it would change in the future. There is an extreme abundance of food, both row crops and hard mast, so food plots are just ineffective. I am looking into some soft mast options. I would love to get my hands on about 1000 cedar trees to plant for cold weather cover. White pine is way faster, but cedar is much better. I need to figure out a blend that will create cover quick and make it better over time as the cedar fills in the gaps.
Strangely, the most effective way to make our gun season "better" is to hope other people are hunting the neighbors' woods. Ours is by and large a pass through property and the best way to get deer to pass through, and maybe hang around a bit, is to get people in the surrounding wood plots.

Learn and provide better land to keep or have the deer in myhunting area a larger percentage of time. Especially, during hunting season. My place is great for spring and fall. Mask crop to end of October, but after that not very good for hunting.

Habitat improvement or add habitat. Convert field valleys into wildlife areas, add CRP fields, hinge cut, cut down dead tree's, add thermal cover with conifer plantings. So much food can be added for wildlife for a lot less money than food plot's by just improving your existing natural habitat. Remember deer's first and preferred year around food source is browse. (Small trees, briar's, grasses and weeds, nut's and fruit's etc.). Start there and then add some plot's or fields of additional food sources.
