Hope everyone has their batteries fresh in their co and fire/smoke alarms in check also that everyone has them installed correctly remember carbon monoxide is heavy so keep co alarms low for early detection of gas. medic22pocjohnc911

Maybe I should get a CO detector. Although we don't have gas and our wood heat is outside. I did just get new smoke detectors for the whole house.

I went kind of wild with the smoke detectors a few years ago, I think we have 7 or 8 in our 1800 ft2 house. Periodically I go through and test them, and if they sounded off properly and didn't make the low battery chirp I'd leave them be. Recently though, I've started recording the date of the last battery change on each one with a sharpie to hopefully stay on a more regular battery replacement schedule.

Funniest thing..after reading this thread last night I went to bed and about 2 am my bedroom detector goes CHIRP, CHIRP, CHIRP, ETC... That will wake you out of a sound sleep even with my hearing loss..
Took it down and took the battery out.....after making sure there was no smoke/fire going on.
Replacing all batteries today...

I replaced all my batteries yesterday. Smoke detectors in all the bedrooms and 2 additional in the common areas of the house.

Old saying has always been change in spring and fall when the time changes.

Then we just rotate those batteries into other things, like kids toys, chrono, rangefinder, etc.
