This is a deer feeder I just made. It holds a 16 pound protien block and a penut butter attractant. The rubber tarp straps are used to aid in removal of sheds. There will be 2 more on each side, but you get the idea. I just bought a digital trail cam, so hopefully I will get some cool pics ;D

We call those shed traps. We make them by setting 4 posts with bungie cords around the outside and corn in the middle. A buck sticks his head in to eat he pulls back horns get caught in the cords viola he sheds them where you can find them.

I have heard in the past that peanut butter is a very good attractant, I just laughed it off. But now I begin to wonder has anyone ever used peanut butter as bait? for deer, and how is it applied etc. Lou

If it does work well, I might make a few "bolt together" models that can be shipped easily.

Get a plastic jar of peanut butter. Drill a 1/4 inch hole in the middle of the lid. Replace the lid. Cut off the bottom of the jar. Remove the lid again, and lag bolt the lid to a tree. Screw the jar back on the lid. Remove the jar and lid when the peanut butter is gone. I haven't tried this, but others have.

Is the bottom solid? When that block gets wet it's going to fall through if its not.
