Walmart should roll back muzzleloader prices end of season. Focus on crossbow. I bought my tenpoint extreme on ebay at a good price. Sealed plastics new but I got a black stock and a camo bow...

I ended up trading some 223 ammo to a buddy for a cva buckhorn he traded for years ago. I may regret it. I figured an entry level muzzleloader would be good for the couple hunts a year ill use it. I was wrong, they're really fun.
Of course I was also in the market for a new climber. I had my eye on a Summit Cobra SD. Same buddy text me and told.me to check out the Hawk warbird and how flat it folds. Well hawk happened to have that on sale for $129 ($100) off. So i bought that too.

I have the buckhorn and love it everyone’s complaints about it are difficulty cleaning well it isn’t very hard at all to take apart to deep clean. Hope ya love it. My only complaint is very easily remedied

The other ones are like a single shot shotgun. I haven’t ever taken trigger out and everything from my break action muzzleloader yet so it may be more difficult than the bolt style buckhorn to take all the way down

I just shoot my muzzleloader at the beginning of the season to make sure it's still sighted in and then I reload it and not clean it until the end of the season, and one year I left the charge in it (sans primer) for 10 months to see if it would hold poi. It did. My ML shows no ill effects from not cleaning it.

They are extremely fun and fantastic for kids because you can control the charge so easily. Some things to think about, pellets are easier but powder is more forgiving and adjustable. Lay a bed sheet on the ground 10 yards or so down range and shoot your target. If the sheet has a bunch of black spots the gun is overloaded. Same idea if you look like Snoop Dog getting out of a car when you shoot. More powder doesn't always help. Most times it robs accuracy. Enjoy the winter time fireworks. Both my kids own one and I own 4. They might get a bit addictive. :-)
