Bi-Pods

Anyone here use a bi-pod on your hunting rifle? I had a 200+ yard shot across a bean field today that I made from prone position. I was thinking that a bi-pod would have been handy.
If you use one, what kind do you have?
Thanks.

I do carry one in my bag if needed. Harris bi-pods are the best but get one that swivels. The cheaper ones are more for bench shooting or flat ground where one leg won't be on a spot higher than the other. The swivel one will compensate for the uneven ground.

All mine are non swivel. Never thought about them working as bullseye69 mentioned. Makes a lot of sense.
That being said, in a pinch, I have adjusted one leg to even out the gun when time allowed before the shot.
I have two Harris's, and several cheaper ones. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for!

Another vote for the Harris Swivel Loc bipod. I have a few of them, from the shortest to the one that can be used if you are sitting on the ground.
For longer shots, there IS a technique to get the most accuracy. Pull back on the rifle to pre-load the bipod. When they fold up, the legs fold towards the muzzle, not towards the trigger.
I also have a imitation Harris. Definitely NOT the same.

Never been a huge fan of bipods but I would recommend one of the primos trigger sticks . I have the short tripod version and love it. Pricey but well worth it

I have a couple of different length Harris Bipods. I never cared for the swivel units. Maybe if I spent more time with one

Oops, I have been doing it wrong all this time. linkThere is a place on the internet that shows you what parts to buy to replace the knurled knob on the Harris bipods to a lever. I have done that to a few of mine and it helps make locking them in place easier.

Harris all the way. Tall one, medium adjustable and the first one which is not adjustable and is why I got the first two. Had to install the lever on the ones I use most frequently. Never looked back.
