Quick question, does anyone know if you have to have a license to help drag a deer out of woods.please don't guess an answer

There is an ask the CO section. He will answer but may be a few days. This is his busy season.
Otherwise call the dispatch office if you dont want guesses

I believe that the only time you have to have a license is in the pursuit of game. Stalking, video, sitting in stand. My interpretation. Could be wrong. Highly doubt a co would ticket if no guns are in the immediate area during drag out.

You do not need a license to help drag. Just make sure the licensed hunter responsible for the kill has either checked the deer in and recieved a confirmation number or has completed a temporary transportation tag. Have the tag on the deer if the hunter leaves it.
