Just a question. So if I have my 308 handgun and 308 rifle with me. How many shells can I have on me? 10 total I always put 2 in the rifle and have 3 for the hand cannon. But I would say I could have 10 for the rifle and unlimited amount for the handgun. There's no restrictions on the handgun. Just my take on it.

Guess we shall see if the Governor has the authority to override the legislature in this issue on Friday. It is FRIDAY!
Wake up Governor and issue the Executive Order!!
If it's gonna happen today, they're going to wait until as late in day as possible to release anything. That way they wont have to take any phone calls on it today....

YEAH bABY IT IS A DONE DEAL! Mike Crider shared a link. 4 mins PCR rifles will be allowed on public land under an emergency rule just passed by DNR. DNR News Division of Fish & Wildlife Indiana Department of Natural Resources 402 W. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46204-2748 For immediate release: Nov. 3, 2017 DNR emergency rule for 2017 deer hunting season An emergency rule signed today by the DNR, filed with the Natural Resources Commission and the Legislative Services Agency, states the following: “Rifle cartridges that were allowed in previous years on public land for deer hunting are allowed on public land again this year during the deer firearms season, the reduction zone season (in zones where local ordinances allow the use of a firearm), special hunts on other public lands such as State Parks and National Wildlife Refuges, and special antlerless season. What are the rifle cartridge size requirements for Firearms Season?
The Department of Natural Resources has received numerous questions regarding recent legislation that legalizes certain rifles for deer hunting beginning in November of 2017.
Equipment on Private Lands
House Enrolled Act 1415 allows some additional rifle cartridges to be used on private land during the deer firearms season.
A summary of the rifle requirements for deer hunting on private land are as follows:
The rifle must have a barrel length of at least 16 inches The rifle cartridges must have a cartridge case length of least 1.16 inches and have a maximum case length of 3 inches The cartridge must fire a bullet with a diameter that is .243 inches (same as 6mm) or larger A hunter may not possess more than 10 such cartridges for each of these rifles while hunting deer These new rifle cartridges may only be used on private land Full metal jacketed bullets are illegal\ These new rifle cartridges may be used during the youth deer season, deer firearms season, special antlerless firearm season (where open), and deer reduction season (in deer reduction zones where local ordinances allow the use of a firearm from the start of the regular firearms season through the end of the following January) All the rifle cartridges that were legal in recent years are legal now only on private land.
Rifle cartridges that are legal under this new law (HEA 1415) include, but are not limited to, the following:

All the rifle cartridges that were legal in recent years are still legal on Public Land, "Public land" includes both state and federal property.
A summary of rifle cartridges for Public Lands:
Rifles chambered for cartridges that fire a bullet of .357-inch diameter or larger, have a minimum case length of 1.16 inches, and have a maximum case length of 1.8 inches are legal to use only during the deer firearms, youth, reduction zones from Nov. 18-Jan. 31 (in zones where local ordinances allow the use of a firearm), and special antlerless seasons.

Even when I was still using my 12ga to hunt deer, I can't remember a time when I carried more than 10 rounds into the field with me... Me either, because slugs usually come in boxes of 5. Most HPR ammunition come in boxes of 20, and most PCR ammunition in boxes of 25.
