I just ordered a new cross bow. I have been using a 30+ year old recurve crossbow and been wanting to get a new one for a couple years. I am a tight wad and just could not make the commitment. I have never been very confident in the old one so i finally gave in and got the new one on order. Should be here Friday. I will not keep you in suspense any longer. Haha. It is the Ravin R9 Package. Shoots 390 fps.,6 in wide when cocked,10 in wide uncocked and 6 1/2 lbs Every report I have read said good things about it. Only flat was that rope cocker is some what LOUD but if I make the first shot count like I should I will not have to worry about the noise. Any one got one? Any comments on it?

Looks like a Klingon weapon! I bet it will sling the death sticks with authority. You post the success stories!

Compact dude...should help with shots somewhat behind you when other xbows struggle with the tree.

It was wateing on me when i got home tonight. I unpacked it. Read the destruction book. Put scope on loosely and the quiver. So far I really really like it. It seems narrower than the pictures and handles good. There is a section in the book on how to sight in scope. If you follow them you will be sighted on on each yardage mark out to 100 yards in the scope with only sighting in two marks. Hope to have some time to shoot tomarrow. Will let you know how things work out.
PS. I do not care if it is dead on at 100 yards. I am NOT gona shoot at a deer that far. Period

Well, I got some time to shoot new crossbow. Got out yesterday morning. Followed instructions in book for sight in. It said shoot at 10 yards. I did purfict left and right,1 in high. Then go to 20 yes. It was 3 in high. Adj. Scope down and shot. 1/2 in off high. Then said to go to 50 yds and shoot so I did. Was 3 1/2 in high. Adj scope down again and reshot. Dead on. Then said to go shoot at 20 yes again and if high or low adj speed ring. Shot at 20 and was dead perfict. The scope is (suposto) be set for all dots from 20 to 100. Did not have time to see. Easiest sight in I ever had. The cocking mechanism is great. It can be cocked with out noise but you have to hold down small lever and be real careful not to slip. The uncocking is a sinch too. Only falt was it was blowing thru 2 targets. Not really a fault. I could not see arrows in flight from 20 yds it is so fast and at 50 I could only see them in the last 25% of flight. Looked to only have a foot or less trajectory at 50 yds. So far I am extremely pleased with it. It is NOT front heavy like so meny I have handled and it is so narrow it is unbeleavable. To me it seems to handle like a some what heavy rifle with a bull barrel. I think it will be great in a blind and tree stand. Will update as time goes on
