I know many of you follow on Facebook or Youtube but felt the recent post was worth sharing here for those that don't:
If I can stress just one thing to any hunter reading this it is the following:
Landowner & Private Property rights should ALWAYS be respected, zero excuses and zero gray area.
It has become all the more clear at just how important it is for any hunter or landowner to always go out of your way to ensure NO ONE could ever accuse you of trespassing.
Living above reproach is something I believe strongly in, and recently had the unfortunate experience of someone accusing myself of trespassing...which simply was erroneous, unsubstantiated and fictitious.
A few tips I've started doing at all times whenever habitat work, trail cameras, hunting or tracking deer take you along a property line are the following:
-Record your time there. This sounds dumb but it is so worth it, if possible record the entire time. While it will not prove without a doubt you committed nothing wrong, it will go greatly towards painting an image of you that will only do good if an ICO, police or judge get involved.
-If on good terms or you know the neighbor; a text, call or visit just to let them know you will be back along the line can go a long way in respect gained both directions.
-If not your land, but a property you have permission to hunt on, ALWAYS inform the landowner of what you are doing. Often times their neighbors aren't going to contact you, they will contact the owner.
God bless, and keep living above reproach fellas.
***Addition: The issue hinted at has since been discussed and the accuser has been made fully aware no offense was committed and a great neighborly relationship with a new hunting neighbor continues to grow into one we are happy to have, especially out at this particular property.
