Not really a newbie but I'm thinking about taking it up again as a warm up for deer season. Anybody got any good squirrel hunting tips or spots to share?
Figured it would be a good way to get in some practice with my Garand and use up that old military amo at the same time since you can't use the FMJ for deer.

I'd go a little heavier in the weapon category. Make sure they come down out of the trees after the shot.

Not sure the garand has the knock down needed for a squirrel at the elevations required. Also to the op I hear the rodents like chewing up wiring so maybe if you strung some wires around the woods it would help keep them around?

Corn. Not in piles though, that confuses the deer. You have to leave it on the cob and hang it in the trees.

I'd go a little heavier in the weapon category. Make sure they come down out of the trees after the shot. The ability for quick follow up shots and easy reloads will make up for the light caliber.

Make sure you bring a spare clip to throw on ground near the tree, making the signature "ping" sound. When the squirrels think you're outta ammo that's when they'll make their move.

And when you finally kill your first one the tail must be tied to radio antenna for duration of vehicle!
