Only way I wouldn't is if I were hunting his property, as his guest, and he had asked or told me not to.
Assuming of course that it was a deer I wanted to kill...

I wouldn't actively pursue "his" deer , but if the opportunity arose and we had no earlier agreement not to, yes i would.. Honestly i would expect the same in return..

I have had one guy over the years say I couldnt shoot any big bucks on a property. I never hunted there or with him again.
Anyone in our group would be just as happy to see someone else get a nice one, as much as if they took it themselves.
I swear, money AND big bucks are the root of all evil. I am happy to harvest any legal game. Antlers are just a bonus to me. Meat fills the freezer.

Seeing how I own the property, I shoot. That deer could be killed by any hunter around. Least we kept it between hunting buddies.

Shoot. The guy I hunt with regularly would just be happy to see a friend kill it.

It looks like it's not legal shooting light so it walks. My Dad had no problem killing the buck I was after for a couple years. I would have no problem doing the same thing. I would rather a friend or family member legally kill it than a neighbor hunting over a pile of corn.

I don't hunt for racks where as my neighbors do and they work hard at protecting and enhancing our little local herd so I would pass.

I don't own the deer there wild and fair game who's to say it won't walk right over to the farm over and get taken than neither one of you gets it, just be happy to be in the woods take what makes you happy and enjoy some fine table fair

I played cat and mouse with a very wide 10 point a few years ago all through bow season. Once gun season opened I planted myself in a ground blind on a very narrow strip of trees on top of a steep ridge where I could see both top and bottom fields. About 10 minutes before I had been seeing this deer along the ridge in the bottom field I heard a single gunshot from about 700 yards away across the road. Shortly there after my brother could hear a guy whoopin and hollerin. the next day Facebook confirmed that my mouse had fallen. I was alright with it. Later I found out this was the first buck the guy had shot in 3 or 4 years.
The way I see it is a lot like a Nascar race. You try to help a teammate out, but when I comes down to the checkered flag everybody is out for themselves.

I would hope that anyone I hunt with would expect me to shoot a deer that size and be happy for me as I would for them.
If I had agreeded, in advance, not to shoot certain deer, different story.

If I don't shoot it, then the next guy over the hill or across the road will.
Unless you own a high-fence operation with a captive herd, no deer is "yours."
If you are granted permission to hunt does only on private property, then go somewhere else if you want to shoot a buck.

Like the rest...depends on the agreement with the person who let me hunt there. I personally would have no issue if a friend shot it so long they were hunting when invited

I once let a real nice white racked ten point go waiting for my brother in law to shoot. He had told me about "ghost" and this was him. I had him in my scope, but waited for him to shoot. It was then I noticed he was asleep and the buck just walked off. Still don't regret not shooting.

It would depend on a lot of things. As for the picture it looks to be after leagle shooting time. If i was hunting HIS properity and had been ask not to I would not. If i was to understand any buck was leagle I would shoot. If it was my property no questions ask. I have hunted properitys where I could not take a Buck, doe only (ok with me as I was filling my freezer) I have hunted a property that bucks had to be out side there ears to be exceptable. I passed a 6 point at 18 yards archery from the ground. Having never killed a deer from the ground it was hard to pass but i gave my word. I also lost a place to hint because they were afraid i would kill the big buck they had seen. Ticked me off as it was the week befor gun season and I did not have a back up. All they would have had to do was Tell Me not to shoot it and I would NOT have. I feel tjat it is there property and I am a guest and MUST abide by their stipulations even if i do not like them. I have a choice. Follow the instrictions or do not hunt. Would i have liked to kill that big buck (i had seen it in archery) OH MY yess!!! But i like to hunt. And that is more important than killing a big buck, getting kicked out, loseing a good friend and my respect from them. Pluss bunch of other stuff that comes along with not honnering their request and breaking my word. I guess I am saying that hunting is more than just ethics to me. It is a way of life. Honner, respect, trust just to name a few. I better shut up now. Haha

I'd shoot him. A couple years ago I had a big buck visiting my property that I had missed the year before and had seen during bow season. My brother came down opening day of gun season. Walking out the door I said there is a big buck in the woods lately, don't care if you shoot him but make sure it is a good shot. He saw him 10 minutes after legal shooting time but couldn't get a good shot and passed. Wouldn't have cared if it worked out differently and he shot him. I would expect the same if it was his property. Then again I'm not a trophy hunter and don't desire a big buck.

I'd shoot unless I'd promised earlier I wouldn't,but who's to say they'd ever get a shot at him, somebody else might take it first.
