Thursday and Friday I fished with my son, grandson and cousin Dave aboard the POLECAT out of Ludington ,Michigan and it was fabulous. On Thursday we had 6 foot rollers which I like however my son and grandson didn't because they spent some time chummimg the fish but it must have worked because we all caught our personal bests with 24,23,22,20 and 18 pound kings coming aboard. Day 2 was better with calm seas we left the dock at 4:00am and ran 20+ miles in the dark at 28 mph to waters that were 20 degrees colder than the previous day. We began setting the glow in the dark spoons and it was game on right way by 8:30 we were done with 20 fish in the box consisting of King salmon, Coho salmon with Steelhead and Lake trout to, we released and/or lost several others. This was the first time both my son and grandson ever reeled in fish that were this big. We brought home over 130 pounds of boneless fillets............I am going to need a bigger freezer. It is a great place. Used to have family up there until about 5 yrs ago. Caught my 1st pike up there and used to catch jumbo perch off the breakwall.
Did a couple charters as well. Always put nice fish in the cooler.
