There was always going to a lot more white on the map.
How many of those white are the "pilot" counties and how much credit is someone going to take for something that was decided in January?

I've heard that as well, but I've heard that it may have been a bit later too. It's also my understanding that these numbers are normally decided based on harvest trends. Regardless, for the sake of conversation..... On the IWDHM website there are 9 counties listed as being involved in the pilot program. I thought there were 6 that were approved, but apparently others were added by the IWDHM. Of those 9, two (Warren and Dubois) were removed from the late antlerless season as their bonus quota dropped from a 4 to a 3. Of the remaining 7, 2 counties (Hamilton, and Porter) are still at least a 4 and remain eligible for the late antlerless season. The remaining 5 weren't eligible for the late antlerless season in 2016 and won't be in 2017 either. This season, there are 8 counties that were dropped from the late antlerless season (as compared to last season). Noble, Dekalb, Fulton, Allen, Warren, Madison, Morgan and Spencer. Of those 8, 7 were not involved in the CDAC program. One county was (Warren) and they were dropped from a 4 to a 3.

It appears to me that Dubois is now a (3)...therefore NO late season hunting does there.

I don't see how Switzerland, Ohio, and Dearborn counties are a 4 and Jennings is still an 8. Whoever picked those numbers have never hunted those counties.

Has anyone seen a reduction zone map for 2017-2018 season? I assume they will be the same as last season but you never know.

I really don't think it makes a difference whether it's an 8 or a 4, I think the only significant difference is whether the county is included in the late antlerless firearms season (IMO).
