I guess to each their own but if I did that, I wouldn't even bond myself out of jail.

Sad. I consider every gun loaded, even if I took all the rounds out.

"Earlier, he had emptied the weapon and pulled the trigger while pointing it at the boys, they told officers.
He then reloaded the gun, police said. When Olivia walked into the room, he said “See, don’t play with guns,” and shot her, according to the document."
I am at a loss for words. That's beyond irresponsible, reckless, and stupid.

I was taught it's always loaded and don't point it at something you aren't ok with killing

Drugs had to be a part of the issue...dang. very very sad for the kids. Perhaps, but the level of plain old stupid in our society is mind blowing. I mean, this guy thought that pointing a gun at his kids and pulling the trigger was a good teaching moment. I vividly recall going shooting many years ago with a friend and his father. He brought along a cantaloupe from the garden, which I thought was strange. He shot the melon with a .357. It literally blew up. He then said to us, "Boys, that's your head, or someone else's if you're ever careless with guns". A bit dramatic, but it got the point across.

I realize that this guy is currently at his lowest point and will have to live with this the rest of his life, but it is well beyond time that people get made examples of and be charged with the most severe crime possible. No plea deals, no having mercy, put them in a hole for a very long time.

Filled a milk jug with water, let him handle my S&W 36 telling him it was not much bigger than a toy gun. I had him hit the jug with a stick and asked if he would want to get hit with the stick. Set the jug out and shot it with a hot HP round. He was able to put his fist in the exit hole. I think that got the point across.
