Anyone going to this this weekend?
Know anyone there who has barrels for 870s?
I'm trying to swap a slug barrel with a rifled choke tube and a cut barrel for a field barrel with remchokes.
This is for an 870 Wingmaster . Trying to get my grandson set up for hunting.

No barrels that fit my bill at the gun show.
Trying a different tact .
I bought the barrel I wanted off of eBay for $200. I've listed the two barrels I wanted to trade to sell . I'm pretty sure I can get at least $100 each for them.
Good 870 barrels command a good price..

So glad the gun show did not have any 870 barrels. I was ready to trade the WingMaster RemChoked slug barrel and a cut barrel for a used vent rib field grade Remchoke barrel. If necessary I was going to throw in a Tasco scope and scope mount for an 870.
I went the eBay route. I found a brand new Wingmaster vent rib field barrel with 3 RemChokes for $198. I bought that.
I listed the two barrels and the scope/mount. They ended up selling for $298. The extra $100 will be applied to a slug gun scope that I will put on my Ithaca Deerslayer 2 for my grandson.
He will end up with two shotguns.
1) The Remington 870 Wingmaster his momma traded out with her neighbor (it had the slug barrel only) that is now an all around field gun.
2) My Ithaca DeerSlayer 2 that will be outfitted with a new scope.
He lives in New York and just decided to get into hunting. He has scheduled time off work to come back to Indiana to deer hunt with me at Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to it!

We started looking at what he needs to even possess the shotguns in NYC. He lives in Brooklyn. What expensive hoops he has to jump through. newyorkcityguns.com/getting-a-nyc-rifleshotgun-permit/Crazy isn't it? Not sure how to get the guns to him legally. Probably have to take the guns to a FFL dealer here and ship them to an FFL dealer there.

I be surprised if there are any FFL near him in that area.... be cheaper And safer to leave at your house IMO.

$235 are you kidding me! If the judiciary had one shred of honesty this would be tossed out as unconstitutional.

Isn't it nice to live in Indiana?
His job took him there and he likes the big city atmosphere, just not their crazy laws..

Not sure what land he would hunt in upstate NY, but if it's private, perhaps leave the gun in a locked case at the landowner's house?

I think there is a considerable amount of public land up state. Huge amounts of land in upstate and even southern. Know alot of guys from PA cross the line to hunt after they get their deer.
