I'd it hasn't had holes drilled in it or rusted through, it can be saved and used as a cooking pot again. If it isn't broken or rusted through it can be used as a planter or such again.
I'm thinking the drive down will suck for you though.

I'm thinking about going to look at it tomorrow. It's 13 miles from me. That would make a great soup pot for Halloween at camp.

It would take a big electrolysis tank to clean that thing up. If it has holes drilled in it could they be welded? Let us know if you bring it home.

The very best welders have trouble with cast Very few can do it

I've seen cast brazed but the repairs don't seem to last long.

There is a guy in Bedford does cast welding. Watched him do an old cast manifold from a boat motor. Don't know cost wise if it be worth it though.

I believe I have found it.
A 24" by 15" deep cast iron pot with no holes showed up on a local sales page (The Greensburg Mancave) today for $135.
