Woodmaster just texted me he killed his Kentucky Gobbler. Three came in and jumped his decoy and was beating the snot out of it... only two left. He killed one in Illinois on their opener Trifecta in Indiana soon?

Wood master says he was set up on the edge of a field with a hen decoy and his "stuffer" Jake out.. He heard numerous gobbling going on . About 45 minutes after good light he had three strutters across the field at about 200 yards. He callled and called but the wouldnt budge. Just kept right in strutting and gobbling. He was glassing them and then noticed a lone hen with them. No wonder they wouldn't come in. After a bit she went back in the woods and they stayed there strutting. He kept calling with some yelps and an occasional cutt. They then decided to check it out. This is a rolling field so he lost sight of them. All of a sudden he saw three heads pop over a rise a hundred yards out. As soon as they saw his "stuffer" two came a running. Then the third one started running too and caught up with the other two. They came all the way in and started attacking his Jake stuffer. Woodmaster had a tough time getting a bead on one with all the movement and wing flopping. Finally one moved a little ways off and Woodmaster lowered the boom on him. Nice 3 year old bird! What Woodmaster's turkey and beat up stuffer

Taxidermist are good friends to have. Congrats Woodmaster! Looks like the stuffer will need a LOT of repairs, including a reattachment on the head.. He just couldn't get a bead on one with all the flopping and moving going on. In the meantime his poor decoy was getting hammered..
