My dad gave me a shovel when I moved 3 months ago. Today I was using it for a purpose not intended for it (prying up tin roofing). I broke the handle twice and I bought a replacement handle instead of buying new.
It's a union fork & hoe co razor back. It is by far the best shovel I have used.
I'm having trouble finding a story for it. I love finding out old stuff's history.
The stamping say union fork & hoe co razor back 2 174.

I believe they had a facility in Huntington, In. You could get a pickup load of ash scraps for next to nothing.
