Of a kidney stone! Think this is the 7th one now, since '09. Family history being passed down. 1st one was ER and morphine, next 2 urgent care and vicodin, then the rest have been with percocet. Yay for pain management! Lol.

Wow, that's a lot. Hopefully, the 7th is your last one.

Ouch! I've never had one but I've heard the horror stories. Hope you get well soon.

When I had mine, we had been mushroom hunting, and had fried up a fresh mess over the campfire. They sure were tasty, but before we could turn in for the night in camp, I began to feel really sick, and I almost never got sick.
I immediately suspected the mushrooms, just because there's always the chance that one was poorly identified or something.
We started for home pretty much as soon as the illness hit, and I had to stop and up-chuck a couple times on the hour drive. Next morning I was no longer feeling all that sick, but had growing lower back pain and reddish pee, so went to get checked out at an ER. The nurse practitioner was quick and friendly, but all business, and she asked me if I'd been out golfing or mushroom hunting. I said "both", and she said they saw a lot of cases of kidney stones about that time every spring, because so many of us get out get some exercise in the early spring, while the weather is good enough to tempt us, but not hot enough to make us aware of how quickly we're dehydrating.
I've always remembered that bit of advice since, and drank more water than I felt like I needed. Seems to have worked so far, no recurrences.

Just throwing this out there...
I had a really tough-ole-bird grandmother that died because of a kidney stone. She put up with the pain so long that when she finally went in to have it checked out, she was admitted and passed away in the hospital shortly after. She had a 9mm kidney stone that was too large to pass and blocked the kidney resulting in sepsis and full-body shutdown from the infection.
If it lasts for very long, please do something about it!!

Wow she must have been tough! Thanks for the advice, but I am wimpy now and can't take much like I used to. Lol. I am getting some sand like particles in my flow, which is picking up, so the stone is moving and/or coming apart. Usually takes a few days to a week to finish.

She used to work at Crane boxing bombs in the train cars. Toughest woman I ever knew and with a high pain threshold that I inherited. But I am not as tough as she was!

I used to hate going to the doctor with a passion. Now we finally got a good one, a great one actually, that I don't mind going. He is down to earth, on a personal level, and makes you feel like a friend. Nothing is embarrassing or scary anymore. Thank GOD we found him! But of course, he has today off when I called in. Lol. They sent him a note and he ordered some more meds, with an immediate appt tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed.

Appt cancelled due to snowstorm! They called in better meds if needed and have me coming in Friday am if stone hasn't passed by then. Pain was better overnight, and I just had some more sand in my urine, so its doing its thing. Never thought I would be happy to talk about this stuff. Lol
