I saw some killdeer today and I never see them until all the bad weather is done.

Kill deer are moving in. Robin's and red wing blackbirds and spring peepers. Hope no more hard freezes, my flowers are coming up.

Most of the early spring flowers are blooming now and I noticed one of the three bucks yesterday shedding his winter coat. Some trees are getting very close. I have bluebirds nesting and this is the earliest ever. Have not seen the treeswallows yet. If I see them, then I know it's for real.
I'm heading to Trine University tomorrow for a lacrosse college D3 game at 7:30. My son plays for Mount Saint Jo on the westside of Cincinnati. The forecast is for rain changing to snow. If it does change to snow, I'm leaving and heading back south to spring.

I also saw minnows around the bank of the pond and a frog jump in a few days ago,the frogs usually aren't around for at least another month from what I've seen. Unless I missed them of course.

Boys I don't think we are done with winter. It may not get zero digits. Farmers Almanac is saying wet March. Of course last year people were finding mushroom March 17th. Who knows.

Welcome to Spring in Indiana....
The grass is greening up, there are a couple of trees blooming and we have a moderate risk of tornadoes, large hail and 60+ mph winds for tonight and tomorrow morning....

Our yard is green. Our weeping cherry is budding out. I saw green leaves sprouting on the underbrush at the edge of our yard. I saw 2 small frogs and a snake at work. And I got a sunburn Friday. Crazy weather this year.

I don't believe the Farmers Almanac at all, never have. Seems to me it's wrong more than right going by what people say it's suppose to do according to it and it never does it. Just my opinion. It also depends on what type of wet, rain would be pretty normal for Spring .

Frogs have been out in my pond for a good month now. Had dandelions in the yard in January. Killdeer and robins have been here for a couple weeks.
Probably have a blizzard first day of spring and snow in may lol

What?? We usually have a week of cold weather before it turns warm for good, just like it does the opposite in the Fall with Indian Summer.

That is my point. There are people that planted corn in the garden doing this or that because they thought winter was over. It does something like this every year. Maybe not to this extent of warm temps in Feb.

Well anybody out planting the garden this early is crazy. There's always a chance of bad frost and occasional snow in the Spring. I never plant garden until at least the middle of April. My point of this thread was I thought the really really cold like below 0 and the bad snow like 6" or more that would be around for weeks was over. Not all cold and snowy weather. Things don't start blooming and the Robins and Killdeer don't ever come back a month or so before the nasty stuff is over, just a couple of weeks before it's completely gone. There's usually still a couple small snows and a little below freezing temps though for the last couple of weeks.

I see robins year round so I don't see them as a sign of spring any more.

I agree with that. I always get an early start on my tomatoes I am hunting Alabama next week I will bring some back plant them in big tubs. If it is warm I will leave them out if it is cold pull them in garage. I always have tomatoes by Memorial Day
