After checking Midway last week(and they were sold out) I found an auction on gunbroker for 30 grain.1000 rounds for $160. That's $8 a box of 50 so I bid! Then later Midway got the 40-grain mini-mag in for $119 a brick so I bought it. Now I have just won the auction for 1000 rounds so I'm stocked up( more than I wanted to be)LOL! They didn't have it last week or I just overlooked them. They are one of the places I normally look!I always check bass Pro, Cabela's.Gander mountain, Dick's, Midway, Brownell's first. If I don't find what I want the second tier is cheaper than dirt, sportsman's guide Sgammo , Natchez, gunbroker, midsouth, wildners, target sports, bulk ammo, Gunn-deals and palmetto arms.Either way I'm glad to see there is more to be found that what I was seeing! 1974 now that was awhile ago... Time to get in the current century. I purchased that old Marlin M-27 from Bedlands, Sidney, NE. They had a really good price on it and I was interested in various old rimfire cartridge firing rifles, so I bought it. The rifle itself was in "fair" condition with the bore the same, but it would still shoot fairly accurate. I cleaned and fixed-up various parts of the rifle and scrubbed the bore as clean as possible. The Marlin functioned fine and I managed to bag a few Squirrels with it; but wasn't too impressed with the .25 Stevens Long or short. When it fired it didn't make much of a muzzle blast but rather only a "Puff" sound. I also had a Forehand & Wadsworth .32 Rimfire revolver that my Grandfather had when he was living, and I received it when he passed away, but I never used it much, as ammunition was almost impossible to find, but had a couple of boxes.
