The pair of red-tail hawks that have been here the last 4 years showed up today. This is almost a month early. Normally the 2nd or 3rd week of February. I also saw a flock of Robins. The daffodils are about and 1 inch out. Anybody else seeing sings?

I see robins year round, so I don't count that sign anymore.

I saw a 3' water snake at work Friday. I got a quick picture as it went back into the rocks. I've been seeing red tail hawks all winter at work.

I kid you not I was up at Jasper yesterday and seen some crazy guy mowing his yard. I had an eye doctors appointment at the Walmart vision center. There were all kinds of people running around in shorts and flip flops.

Working in the yard yesterday, heard/saw a flock of sandhill cranes going north. Normally never see them until early March.

Actually she was the one that seen him and told me. I was playing with my phone. I will admit I am about half blind though, but not much longer my new, scratch free spec's will be in next week LOL.

I saw an ant climbing up the side of my house, cardinals flying around trees budding, frogs croaking and flowers blooming, dogs and cat living together and fewer deer harvested; it's global warming.

Guys, don't "rush" the season. I've seen this warm weather pattern before, and we usually get clobbered in February & early March. Remember way-way back in 1960, when still living in Washington, Indiana; the whole winter was warmer than normal, and you could go outdoors without a jacket or coat. That entire winter was warm until March when we got clobbered with 3' of snow from two storms, one after the other with temps around 0*. Last winter (2016) down here in Central Kentucky was also warm until we received 23" of heavy snow in mid February.

I remember when people were seeing tambourines and elephants playin' in the band. Not necessarily weather related.

If there is one thing you can count on with the weather in Indiana, it's up and down weather patterns.
Where I live, we can apparently count on not only that, but an overabundance of rainfall (if what has happened the last three years continues).
Last year, we had 90 days of rain (and that was with a drought in October and November). Over the last three years (in my little corner of the southern portion of the state), we've had an additional 40" of rain. At an "average" of 45" of rain per year, that means we've had almost the equivalent of 4 years of rain over the last 3 years.
And this year has started out wet again as we have had 12 days of rain that have resulted in my area being an 1.5" above "normal" for January rainfall with 8 days remaining in the month.

Earlier the weather channel was saying a wetter and warmer than average winter - so far they are looking good. You know we have some snow etc. to come yet.
