Amazing deer for 3.5 years old. A new state record typical for ML was shot the same day same county.

Is Tennessee a one buck state, does Tennessee get to use bait? It's a two buck state and I believe you can kill both with a firearm. No baiting.

Can't be true. Have to be a OBR state to grow big deer

Good thing its not a OBR state ... probably would have been killed a couple years ago because we all know more bucks are killed when folks can only kill 1.

Bahaha...TN has a lot less developed up ground and chopped up parcels. Pretty solid habitat for deer and like KY puts forth some great deer.

Probably half the state would not fall into what is considered "good" deer habitat. Well sure, but neither does IN...or almost all states encircling us. Most states have pockets of prime spots...only a few would I saw overall have more good than eh or bad (Kansas, Iowa, Missouri and maybe some of the states like Montana...but even that gets pockety).

I sure love living down here now. TN only recently became a 2 buck state, was a 3 & 4 buck state depending on county. You can also kill one antlerless a day for the season. ML opens the first weekend in November for 2 weeks then rifle thru the first weekend in January. Bonus is you can kill a bobcat a day.
Bag limit on spring turkeys is 6.

Been down here in Middle Tennessee now since 2012, plenty of deer population wise, changed to two bucks a season last year and still three does a day in Unit L which is middle is Tennessee. Now coming from Indiana and seeing first hand what the OBR did to the overall age structure, I would love to see it instituted here, since there is an over abundance of does. There is an underlying way of thinking down here that " is if you don't kill a buck you are unsuccessful" it's very strange to say the least. I passed up 15 bucks from Muzzleloader till the end of rifle and hope a couple made it through. Along with the non typical killed a dandy typical was killed by another Sumner county resident opening weekend and it was also scored and went over 184". These two deer for the state are not the norm. If you look at the TWRA harvest data most bucks are 2.5 yrs or younger. Along with the other game Tennessee has plenty to go afield for, four bearded turkeys in the spring, and six turkeys in the fall depending on the county. Still putting in and trying to get the coveted elk draw lol, really like the big game liscense, buy it in Feb and it's good for every big game animal season till the following Feb. makes it awlful nice.
