I would love to have a big chunk of that tree to play with. Love to bury my 090 with the 6 foot bar in it.

I read once the the tunnel and hardening of the ground was killing the tree.

I never made it out there to see it. I bet it was a sight to be seen.

I didn't read the entire article. Did they mention how much money they got from the tree?

I've not seen that one, but have seen similar tunnel trees in Yosemite.
I bet they leave it there to decay.

I've not seen that one, but have seen similar tunnel trees in Yosemite. I bet they leave it there to decay. Correct. Others have fallen and they let them decay. Did I read the article correctly, that this was the last one? Ex wife and I spent 2-3 days driving and walking through Sequoia and Kings National Park. Truly amazing trees, you literally feel like an ant next to them. General Sherman Tree is something that you will never forget. Truly amazing trip. Driving out of there, my arms got tired turning the steering wheel. The turns are so tight (in a 1987 Surbam) that I was looking out the vent window around the left hand turns to see where the road was going.

That's a shame. That area is on my list of places I plan on seeing one day.
