Brownell makes a darn fine bowstring wax, but W/C makes their own brand and I might be tempted to use that on a W/C string. Try some spray silicone on the cable rod. Spray some on a rag and wipe the rod with it and see if that takes care of the noise.

Usually if the cable slide starts making noise it's time to replace it because it has too much movement. I have seen guys put bowstring wax on the slide it's self to quiet them. I would recommend the "wax" that Winners choice puts out OR just good ole PURE Bee's Wax. That's ALL I use on my bows and have never had a problem. I hope this helps, Fuzzy Hoyt

Is it one of the teflon ones? Does it seem like something that might get better as the new cables wear in?

If it is a metal cable guide rod, check for wear on it. Sometimes they will get worn down and the paint wears off creating some noise. If it is a carbon cable guide rod, they can get nicked and will make noise.

OUCH! That's a way to tear up a string and cable & throw a bow out of tune in a hurry! Get a cable slide on that bad boy!

Did Martin really put a cable slide on the bows 25-30 years ago? I know it's something I need to get, but just haven't done it yet.... Haven't had any problems with it not grouping after I tuned it, though I haven't shot it since gun season started last fall.

Best thing I have found to use is a small amount of string wax. Just a very light amount of the rod
