Okay here we go with the first of many questions to come. I received my new used recurve and need to know how to properly string it. Can someone explain?

There are several different ways to string a recurve. This guy uses the wrap around way. www.grozerarchery.com/usage.htmI always used a “stringer” and did it this way. The “Stringer” is basically a longer string than your bowstring and has two leather pockets. One on each end. The pockets fit on each end of your bow. You then stand on the stringer and lift your bow straight up. That will bend your limbs far enough for you to get the bowstring in place. This is what a stringer looks like.. Here is where you can buy one. www.valleytradarchery.com/accessories.htm

ALWAYS use a stringer or you'll twist a limb sooner or later. Cheap insurance!

When you use a stringer you will not take a chance of the bow getting away from you and causing injury to you or someone close to you. Always make sure the string is in the groves be fore letting up on the pressure too.
