It's discussions such as this that bring out the morals meter on everyone. It also sheds a lot of light on the hypocrisy of people. Simply put, there are countless reasons as to why certain laws are written and any number of them can be explained away by any individual for their situation. Laws are laws, just because you don't agree with it doesn't make you any better than the person breaking a law you do agree with. As for the harness/orange comparison, no they are not the same. Harnesses are optional and orange is a law. Basically if you want to kill you, it's okay, but the state doesn't want someone else to kill you because they didn't see your camouflage behind the deer they were shooting at. The End

Can someone name a state that requires fall restrain device while hunting from a elevated position ? OSHA isn't a state, but they require fall restraint if you're 6' or higher. Me personally, I say let the Darwin awards be more readily to hand out.

I just bought for squares of bright orange cloth at Walmart just so my girlfriend can blind hunt from the ground. On private ground that no one is anywhere near. But anyone in an elevated blind 4' off the ground doesn't have to mess with it. Stupid rule!! Just more one pita step I have to take for no good reason

They tell me that I have to wear a seatbelt in an enclosed vehicle, but they don't care about the motorcyclist that isn't wearing a helmet. I am pro orange by the way.

Guess I need to change my name on here to public enemy #1, did you on here who's comments were less than civil catch the fact I wear hunter orange to and from the stand? Been my experience that those who protest the loudest, usually have the most to hide. But I will say that some on here made some valid points and I will from now on wear my orange cap in the stand. So I guess I won't have to worry about any roadblocks set up to collar me. I actually wore my orange cap today and killed my reduction buck, a eight pointer. Now I'm done till next season.

Hard to trespass with orange on. That's why a lot of guys are against it. If you think trespassing is bad now, eliminate the orange requirement and you'll have guys sneaking on all kinds of places they shouldn't be.
Nothing screams trespasser more to me than seeing a guy in gun season not wearing orange...and I do see it about once per year.
Why would someone who is tresspassing care about wearing hunter orange? Theyre already breaking the law. Thats on par with a liberal argument about banning guns will stop criminals from using them. I agree. My point was that since we have an orange requirement if you see a guy walking through the woods with a gun without orange on, it is pretty good indicator that he is trespassing. Without the orange requirement it would be much harder to tell who is or isn't trespassing. That's how a couple of trespassers have been caught around where I hunt.
