Whats everyones experience with deer and cattle? Cow effect deer? Have a place id love to hunt but just found out this morning cattle will be back in there this weekend. Lots of good deer sign, but there hasnt been cattle back there since spring. Cows going to push the deer out? Ive never had to deal with this issue lol.

Don't ever recall having deer and cattle close to each other but I've seen deer in fields that also had cattle. Don't know about when cattle are first introduced.

Once, I hunted Deer on a cattle farm, but this was way back in the late 1970's. The cattle didn't particularly liked my presents in "THEIR" area. They "mooed" and made lots of noise moving about. Saw only four Doe that day, and never returned to hunt there again. Cattle & Deer Hunting don't mix....in my opinion.

Ill explain a little further. Out of 53 acres, cattle will have access to around 5 acres. The problem with that is that is the only 5 acres with trees on it! That 5 acres is pastured off. The other acres are beans on one side of the pasture and corn on the other. The back of the entire 53 acres is grown up old railroad tracks. Saplings throughout but very thick. I know for sure deer use these old tracks to travel. I wanted to hunt the wood lot because i think thats where they had been bedding. Now if i plan to hunt it, if deer still use it with the cattle. Ill have to adjust fire. Just curious is all. Hope that made sense, it does to me lol

Hunt the tracks, or as close as possible. I hunt next to a cattle farm and have plenty of deer. They just seem to skirt the cattle quite a bit

All of the large properties I hunt are cattle operations, but I hunt back in the woods where the cattle can't go. Five acres is pretty small, and I can't see deer bedding there if cattle will be tromping all over and disturbing them constantly.

Deer don't pay a bit of attention to cattle just a pain having to know EXACTLY Where they are at ALL Times

They aren't bothered too much by them in wide open spaces, but certainly won't bed in the midst a herd of cattle in a tiny woodlot.

Wouldn't think it would be optimal hunting.

My parents occasionally have cattle or horses on their 25 acres. Deer hunting always goes way downhill when they're in there.

I hunt a property that borders a cattle farm. I can hear the cattle but never see them and deer come through all the time. I even had a donkey on trail cam from next door, he gets out a lot. Good luck there.

I have hunted deer in a wooded pasture with steers...sucked big time. Now after they removed them from that area it improved.

Deer may move through but likely will not stay. If just a small wood lot and lots of open fields they likely will move on to better areas. It won't take long for cattle to have that area grazed down and little cover. I have hunted woods that deer and cattle shared for years and see no change now without that cattle are not in there but they were well as accustomed to them. They didn't bed there though. PLUS IS NATURAL COVER SCENT. JUST FIND A WARM PIE.
